MONDAY 26th JUNE – FRIDAY 30th JUNE 2017

Around 45 students and ten staff left for Country Week on Sunday 25 June. As always there was much anticipation of participating in some competitive sports, social outings at night and catching up with friends from other schools. The college sent five sporting teams - AFL, Basketball, Hockey, Netball and Volleyball.

We went into the weeks competition short on competitors and suffered a few critical injuries along the way but the students stepped up and in one case, Melanie Were played in three different sports to help her fellow team mates out. Without many students playing in two sports we simply could not have fielded teams and that would have affected student and the staff enjoyment of the week away. In true college style and tradition the students and staff banded together to support one another through a very enjoyable week of sport and friendship.

  • Heather Rae and her staff for providing many exciting activities each evening and taking the occasional    student to hospital for medical treatment to ankles, legs, hands and other various check-ups.
  • Coaching staff, Mrs Shalders, Mr Madson, Mr Wray and Mr Dewing for their valued efforts, before and during Country Week, to get the best from their teams and make the event so enjoyable for everyone.

Overall, Country Week was again highly successful and rewarding for everyone and I will leave you with a famous motivational quote……possibly the only one I didn’t use during the week. If you want to go fast, go alone but if you want to go far, go together.
